Dogs of War

Players act as mercenary leaders in a fractured, steampunk-influenced renaissance realm, hiring captains and sending soldier companies to fight on behalf of six rival noble Houses. Gameplay unfolds over three rounds of shifting allegiances as players place units, contest battle outcomes, and acquire new armies, tactics, and gold. Influence with victorious Houses increases their value, while successful combats and bounties yield immediate rewards. Multiple paths to victory coexist: accumulate influence with prominent Houses, win key battles to deny opponents, or amass wealth and trophies to outscore rivals by the end of the conflict.

Rich get richer. Too much luck involved with the "tactical cards". Try the tactic "buy cheapest mercenaries, collect shields and victory points, but ignore completely the fighting". Ugly theme.
