Foundations of Rome

Players act as rival architects acquiring city lots and constructing buildings in a shared Roman cityscape. On each turn a player buys land, places a new building tile or miniature, or collects income to fund future projects. Buildings such as houses, workshops, fountains, and civic structures generate population, commerce, and special effects that influence scoring. At round end players score Glory Points for population and commercial presence and for civic buildings whose value depends on both the player’s and opponents’ constructions. The game emphasizes spatial placement, area control, and engine development across multiple rounds.
