In an alternate late-1800s world, the discovery of Netherium provides limitless energy while unleashing ghosts, spirits, and other creatures into the mortal realm. These entities haunt places marked by violence, from castles and prisons to ordinary locations with dark histories. Players lead professional teams of ghost hunters and monster slayers, taking on contracts to track down and eliminate supernatural threats. Teams may pursue fame, noble causes, or the high fees paid for protecting people from creatures of the night.
