Players compete as rival magnates in Viking-age Scandinavia, aiming to earn points through trick-taking and bonuses until one reaches 50 points. Each round deals 15 cards, sets a trump, and has both players secretly predict how many tricks they will take. Players then play a series of tricks, using character abilities and special cards that modify or cancel tricks and introduce tactical uncertainty. Scores are revealed and awarded based on trick wins and fulfilled predictions; play continues up to ten rounds or until a player reaches the target score.
