The players cross a frozen steppe on horseback, exhausted and exposed to a heavy snowstorm. Distant wolf howls grow steadily closer as they advance. Intelligence and Constitution rolls reveal the approaching danger and test the characters’ ability to endure the journey. Failed checks can leave them falling from their horses, suffering penalties to later rolls, or unconscious until they can rest.
