About a week after leaving the last starport, a ship’s crew begins experiencing minor malfunctions. Lights flicker, ovens cook food incorrectly, refrigeration shuts down, communications fail, and the ship computer displays unexplained alien symbols. These disruptions gradually worsen as an unknown problem spreads through the vessel.
