Players act as competing noble factions during the Wars of the Roses, using military and political power to influence the English succession. Armies move across a map, fight battles, recruit retainers and maneuver to capture or protect royal heirs. Political actions, alliances and betrayals shape who controls key heirs and who ultimately claims the crown. The game emphasizes negotiation, area control and risk management as players balance offense and defense to secure succession for their chosen claimant.
