Players recruit a team of eccentric spacefarers and add them to their decks to help stop galactic threats. The set introduces new heroes with unique card effects, plus two masterminds and accompanying villain groups that create challenge and synergy with the core game. Designed as an expansion, it mixes with a Marvel Legendary core set and the Phase 1 base set. Play centers on deck-building, coordinating hero abilities, and defeating mastermind schemes while managing encounter cards representing iconic cosmic foes.
