Lock 'n Load: Heroes of the Gap

A tactical wargame that recreates the opening day of a Cold War–era conflict in and around a German river town. Players field 1980s-era forces—modern NATO tanks, helicopters, infantry, and support weapons vs. Warsaw Pact tanks, IFVs, paratroopers and anti-tank teams—on a large mounted historical map showing the town, river, and surrounding villages. Play uses a platoon- and vehicle-level system with counters for vehicles, squads, leaders, and weapons. Scenarios guide sequential engagements from initial probes to a final fight for a bridge; rules cover ATGMs, advanced armor and sighting (thermal/night), aerial support, and other Cold War systems. Components include a large map, multiple counter sheets, full rules and scenario cards, player aids and dice.
