Saints in Armor

A tactical simulation of six early Thirty Years’ War engagements, focusing on compact formations and period tactics on half-size maps. Players command Catholic/Imperial and Protestant forces through scenarios that recreate White Mountain, Wimpfen, Höchst, Fleurus, Stadtlohn, and Lutter am Barenberge. Each scenario includes battle‑specific rules that model events such as unreliable allies, wagonburg defenses, river crossings and rearguard retreats. Gameplay emphasizes maneuver, timed withdrawals, assaults on fortified positions and the use of light cavalry types like Croats or Transylvanians. Shared special rules and balanced victory conditions keep both sides engaged despite historically uneven forces.
