Warhammer 40,000 (Eighth Edition)

Players field armies of miniatures on a tabletop battlefield filled with terrain and take turns moving, shooting, casting psychic powers, charging and resolving close combat across a series of battle rounds. Each turn is resolved through a sequence of phases: command, movement, psychic, shooting, charge, combat and morale. The rule set is a streamlined core that covers movement, shooting, psychic powers, charging, fighting and morale tests so a complete game can be played using only these pages. It also presents three structured play styles—casual Open Play, story-driven Narrative Play with special deployment and variable battle lengths, and competitive Matched Play using agreed army-balance systems and example missions. Optional Advanced Rules expand and customise play for players who want additional complexity and scenarios.
