2001 · City Building
Medina
Players rebuild a decayed medina in 1822 by placing two building pieces each turn to expand or start colored palaces and renovate the city wall. Each player will claim one palace of each of the four colors; scoring awards one point per wooden piece in a claimed palace and bonuses for owning the largest palace of a color. Additional rewards go to the player who most recently connects one of their buildings to the growing walls, which extend from the four corners. Play emphasizes spatial planning, timing of claims, and competition for majority bonuses as the city gradually takes shape.
