Rossio

2020 · Card Game

Rossio

Players are hired stonemasons tasked with paving a shared city square using black-and-white calçada tiles. Each turn players recruit a helper card to a three-slot personal display (face-up cards cost coins but score based on patterns on the square; face-down cards grant coins), activate all cards, and then place the leftmost tile from their board into the shared grid following adjacency and placement rules. Tile placement can trigger bonus builds when placed next to identical tiles, and completed columns grant small bonuses. Players collect coins from empty spaces on their boards and then draw from a limited market whose available options depend on how many tiles they built. The game ends when the square is complete; the winner is the player with the most points. Timing of recruiting versus building and careful money management drive interaction and scoring.
