Ys
Players act as merchant-princes in a fortified coastal city, managing a team of brokers to harvest gems from incoming ships and sway court figures. Each round, ships deliver different jewel types to the four neighborhoods; players place two brokers (one revealed, one hidden) in port, market, commercial, or palace zones to seize black jewels, alter gem values, secure financial gains, or gain influence over powerful characters. Dominating an entire neighborhood grants first pick of that docked ship’s cargo. The gem market mechanic lets opponents shift jewel values, so collection planning and bluffing about intentions play a central role. Victory is gold-based: the player with the most points wins.
