This two-game set covers the opening phase of the First World War through the German victory at Tannenberg and the Battle of the Marne, where the German advance toward Paris was halted. Both games use the same system and focus on the challenges of commanding groups of armies. Movement allowances are determined separately for each army through command rolls, while combat emphasizes training, equipment, and morale rather than numbers alone. Tannenberg includes German wireless intercepts, while the Marne features Paris Taxis, an Allied Counterattack scenario, and an instant German victory if Paris falls. The games support solo or two-player play, with divisions and brigades represented on maps divided into large hexes.
