Dixit: Odyssey

Players take turns as the storyteller, secretly selecting a card and giving a word or sentence that hints at its illustrated scene without being too obvious. Other players choose a card from their hands that best matches that clue, the chosen cards are revealed, and everyone (except the storyteller) votes on which image they think inspired the clue. Scoring rewards the storyteller and correct guessers when some—but not all—players identify the storyteller’s card; players also earn points for votes their images receive. Rounds continue with hands refilled until the deck is exhausted. The set includes a large collection of uniquely illustrated cards, a fold-out scoring board and tokens, and supports expanded player counts and team-play variants.

Un excelente juego familiar que admite hasta 12 jugadores. Muy dinámico y divertido en el que cada turno uno de los jugadores asumirá el rol de narrador y deberá describir una carta con una frase o palabra. El resto de jugadores deberán poner una de las suyas para confundir a los demás y acertar la auténtica carta del narrador.

One of the best party games out there! I've plsyed it a lot with groups from 5 onwards, always a great experience. Not everyone has the right skills to score well at it, but it happens with every game!

Versión del Dixit para hasta 12 jugadores. Se trata de elegir un tema o frase y que todos los jugadores coloquen una carta que crean que tiene que ver con ese tema. Si todos aciertan la carta de la persona que ha elegido el tema todos puntúan menos esa persona; las otras cartas votadas también obtienen puntuación, haciendo avanzar a sus dueños en la carrera por ganar. Juego muy grupo-dependiente. Si hay complicidad e imaginación, las risas están aseguradas, pero mejor abstenerse con grupos sosainas.

How many cards and voting tokens do we start with?

Each player starts with 6 image cards. In a 3–6-player game, each player takes 1 voting token; in a 7–12-player game, each player takes 2. (Rulebook, p. 5)

Can the storyteller vote for a card?

No. The storyteller does not vote; the other players secretly vote for the image they think belongs to the storyteller. (Rulebook, p. 5)

Can I vote for my own card?

No—under no circumstances can a player vote for their own image. With 7 or more players, you may vote for a second image, but neither vote may be for your own card. (Rulebook, p. 5)

What happens if everyone, or nobody, guesses the storyteller’s card?

The storyteller scores 0 points, and every other player scores 2 points. Otherwise, the storyteller and each player who guessed correctly score 3 points. (Rulebook, p. 5)

How do bonus points from votes work?

Each player other than the storyteller scores 1 bonus point for every vote received by their image, up to a maximum of 3 bonus points. In games with 7 or more players, a player who used only one vote also gets 1 extra point if that vote found the storyteller’s card. (Rulebook, p. 5)

What happens after a turn, and when does the game end?

Everyone refills their hand to 6 cards, and the player to the storyteller’s left becomes the next storyteller. The game ends when a player reaches 30 points; the player with the most points at the end of that turn wins. (Rulebook, p. 5)
