Players try to get others to guess secret words by supplying and trading one-word clues. Each round has three phases: players secretly write clues, offer them for sale or bid on others’ clues, and then use purchased clues to guess the secret words of fellow players. Clues are created by the clue owners but cannot be used by them; buying the right clue requires empathy and strategic spending. Points are scored both for correctly guessing other players’ words and for having one’s words guessed. After three rounds, the player with the most victory points wins, with leftover money serving as the tie-breaker.
