In a rugged northern island of mountains, fjords, forests, and dark waters, each player leads a clan of Northmen. Workers fell wood, fish for salmon, mine ore, and establish connections between settlements. Players place workers on land or use boats at sea. When new connections link enemy settlements, raids begin, with warriors attacking, falling in battle, invading, or returning with spoils. Resources are scored for supplying warriors with wood and iron, while food is needed to help them survive the winter. Players may also challenge rival jarls in duels for glory. After four scorings, hoarded treasures are counted, and the player with the most points wins.
