Shashki

A Russian form of checkers played on the dark squares of an 8×8 board. Men move forward but capture in either direction, becoming kings upon reaching the opposite back row. If promotion occurs during a capture, the piece continues capturing as a king when possible. Captures are compulsory, though players need not choose the sequence with the most captures. The game ends when a player has no legal move, either because all pieces are captured or blocked.
