Kero: The Boss Variant

Players command amphibian clans exploring a modular map of territories and placing explorer tokens to claim areas. Each clan gains a unique boss token that sits with a regular explorer token and functions like any other piece but carries a one-time tie-breaking ability. When a scoring tie occurs on a territory, the boss ability may be spent to claim that territory for its clan; if both bosses are spent on the same territory, the tie remains unresolved and no one scores it. The game proceeds through exploration, token placement, and strategic timing of the boss power.
