A Midnight Council of Quail (Swords & Wizardry)

Adventurers investigate a village where a monstrous murderer has taken up residence, but the villagers are determined to keep the creature’s lair hidden. The killer is a wereboar posing as the local apothecary, aided by a mad druid living in a lightless underground realm beneath the settlement. As the characters search for clues and question the inhabitants, they encounter a community shaped by fear, secrecy, and divided loyalties. Sentient quail serving as local sentinels also observe events and attempt to respond to the threat while their archdruid is away.
