Almeida et Bussaco 1810

This historical wargame covers the opening clashes between Masséna’s French army and Wellington’s forces during the 1810 invasion of Portugal. French troops defeat Craufurd near Almeida and besiege the fortress before advancing toward Wellington’s defensive position at Bussaco, where a frontal assault must overcome difficult terrain and determined resistance. The game uses the Jours de Gloire system, with units represented by die-cut counters on a map divided into 297-meter hexes. Scenarios cover the battles of Almeida and Bussaco, with each game turn representing approximately 75 minutes and each strength point representing 200 men.
