This supplement focuses on Phantom Trap, exploring ways to use the illusion to mislead intruders and consume their time, spells, abilities, and other resources. It presents variant spell components that allow false traps to appear in unexpected locations, such as arrow slits and crossbeams, rather than only on locks or hinges. The supplement also covers combining phantom traps with real magical and mechanical traps. New options, feats, magic items, and sample trap designs support encounters in which diversions conceal more dangerous hazards.
