Big Deal

Players act as major investors in a corporate market, acquiring company shares and the resources needed to form businesses. Resources come from four fluctuating markets, where each purchase raises the price and each sale lowers it. Formed companies provide income each turn and can be sold for a premium or split apart for increased returns. Players can also initiate hostile takeovers by placing shares in another player's company and starting a per-share bidding war. The winning bidder gains the company and its shares, while the other player receives payment at the final bid price. A sudden-death market collapse ends the game, creating a final period in which players must judge when to sell assets or risk them in takeovers.
