Blade of the Barbarian
Barbarian King Bertachar must give his magic blade, Shieldbreaker, to a worthy hero or fulfill a deadly prophecy. Adventurers gather in his hall to compete in drinking contests, stone lifting, and riddles, while ruthless cunning may be needed to prevail. This one-page adventure is designed for roughly half a session and suits a 4th–6th level fighter-type supported by a cleric, thief, or discreet mage. It can be introduced through a rumor table or placed as an encounter on a hex map.
