Chipped Saucer

A crashed spaceship carrying dangerous exotic lifeforms has become a hazard on the outskirts of the solar system. After a containment failure released an acid hound, the creatures killed or incapacitated the passengers and crew while the pilot was making manual course corrections. With the autopilot disabled, the ship drifted off course for weeks before crash-landing.
