Gradient Descent is a board game for 0 players.
A sprawling science-fiction megadungeon inspired by fantasy roleplaying games, dystopian cinema, and graphic novels. Players explore hundreds of rooms within a vast machine, making short expeditions to recover artifacts or establishing a base for longer campaigns. The complex is inhabited by ghosts formed from brain scans, android communities, human Divers, and other factions with competing interests. Ghosts cannot be defeated through violence, requiring different approaches, while unique artifacts provide rewards and objectives throughout the depths.
