Hoplomachus: Legends of the Sand

A hex-based tactical game set in an ancient gladiatorial arena, where one to four players represent lost civilizations competing for a place in Rome’s games. Each player seeks to eliminate the opposing champion, who begins inactive and defenseless until the crowd’s favor is secured. Players draw and deploy gladiators, move them across the arena, and support them with tactic chips. Battles involve defending champions, controlling crowd-favor spaces, securing deployment zones, defeating beasts, and eliminating enemy tacticians. Before each battle, players customize their forces by selecting gladiators and tactics from their city’s available options.
