Characters are created with greater emphasis on background, expanded skills, and revised rules for training and advancement, giving new adventurers broader starting abilities. Combat uses simple rolls alongside familiar concepts such as Combat Actions and Strike Rank. Special Combat Manoeuvres provide tactical options and varied effects without relying on a resolution matrix. The rules are reorganized for easier reference and remain compatible with material from the RuneQuest II line.
