Command German or Soviet forces during the 1941 campaign of Army Group North. German units advance toward Leningrad alongside Finnish forces, while Soviet players organize resistance and decide which positions to defend or abandon. The game uses wooden blocks and an adapted version of the system from Moscow '41. German forces face difficult terrain, limited supplies, shifting objectives, and a limited timetable, while Soviet forces rely on strategic withdrawals and delay to withstand the offensive.
