Magnificent Flying Machines

Set during the pioneering era of air travel, the game follows international pilots competing in dangerous air races from around 1908 to 1913. Players maneuver their flying machines across terrain and weather tiles, attempting takeoff, flying, and landing tests while managing fuel, repairs, spare parts, passengers, and cargo. Victory points come from achievements such as landing first on particular terrain, reaching the central airfield, transporting passengers or cargo, and performing trick maneuvers. Dice determine the results of tests, with equipment, spare parts, and cards providing additional support. Failures can damage progress, while catastrophic failures have more severe effects. The race winner is not necessarily the overall winner, as success depends on matching a pilot's abilities and aircraft features to an effective strategy.
