Merchants of Dunhuang

Players act as rival merchants in a busy Silk Road city, collecting goods, hiring local characters and managing resources to expand their influence. On each turn the camel marker moves along character tiles; players may pay coins to advance further, then take the goods card on that tile and either place it in their shop (tableau) or store it in their warehouse (hand). Players may use the tile’s character ability or take coins instead. Majority tokens are claimed based on the goods displayed in each shop, and endgame scoring awards points for majority tokens and for held goods by value; alternatively, a player immediately wins by meeting a four-goods-and-four-majorities condition.
