Optional Rules: Death Effects
Optional rules add effects that occur when a powerful monster dies. Some creatures explode, dissolve into acid, or cause nearby structures to shake and collapse, while others leave behind only minor cosmetic changes. These effects can threaten surrounding characters and destroy items or locations, making the moment of a monster’s death part of the encounter.
