Players take on the role of notorious ship commanders in a Caribbean privateering setting, using unique commander abilities to shape their strategy. Gameplay adds ship upgrades like cannons that enable assaults on island fortifications, along with new explorer boards, cards, and a rum-trading mechanic. Players sail between ports, complete contracts, engage in combat, and manage resources to gain wealth and reputation.
