Players lead hero parties into a fantasy dungeon-crawl where a secretive cult and other new factions defend a powerful relic. The expansion adds new monster types, hazards labeled as Diseases, and fresh dungeon challenges that alter combat and deck targets. On the village side, Mercenary cards can be hired to grant ongoing abilities, while Treasure cards appear as rewards from defeated foes and provide permanent benefits to a player’s deck. Gameplay remains focused on building and refining a deck to improve dungeon performance while racing other players to secure the Thunderstone.
