STYX

Players compete as rival overlords trying to claim the vacant Throne of the Underworld. Each round two Emissaries appear and players secretly choose to Tithe (gain wealth), Muster (recruit to their army), or Eliminate (harvest the Emissary’s Soul and deny it to others). Choices are revealed simultaneously, producing bidding conflicts resolved with gold for recruitment and military Strength for survival. Emissaries grant varied rewards—Influence, income, Elements, Souls, or special abilities—so players build engines while deciding when to take or deny key cards. Unclaimed Emissaries add Chaos, advancing the game toward a final confrontation where army power and timing determine the victor.
