A Covenant on Fire: Diabolism, Jealousy, and Revenge in Mythic Europe

Wizards of the Order of Hermes seek knowledge and wisdom in Mythic Europe, where the Church, local communities, faeries, and Hell threaten their magic. They gather in fortified covenants to study, experiment, and protect one another, but the Mistle Lake covenant has burned down, leaving only the dying young wizard Veritius. From his bed in a nearby abbey, Veritius recounts the covenant’s downfall to an Inquisitor. His testimony may reveal the truth—or conceal it—through revenge, absolution, self-interest, or delirium. Play explores hindsight, conflicting perspectives, zealotry, heresy, and the unreliable nature of truth.
