Players face new monstrous threats summoned by the gods from the deep, each with unique abilities that interfere with the Atlantean rescue effort. New enemy types occupy the board, steal resources, and apply disruptive effects that must be countered through strategic planning. Players recruit and interact with legendary creatures and allies, acquire magic items, and secure special locations to mitigate monster attacks and advance construction of the Cosmic Gate. The expansion adds modular mechanics—monsters, allies, magic items, and locations—that integrate with the base game to increase variety and tactical options.
