Catan Geographies: North Rhine – Westphalia

A historical regional map expansion that recreates the Nordrhein-Westfalen area of medieval Germany, placing resource hexes and cities roughly where real-world counterparts sit along the Rhine and Ruhr. Players place settlements, roads and cities using rules mostly identical to standard Catan but with location-specific exceptions: cities may only be built at marked city intersections, the usual two-road spacing rule is waived where cities lie close together, and road building is restricted until a settlement occupies a reached hex. Harbors surround the board and grant trade benefits when a road is built on designated red-marked hexsides. Additional victory points can be earned by being first to build onto marked victory-point crossings.
