The setting explores a land shaped by civil war, infernal influence, and perpetual servitude, where crusaders, revolutionaries, and ambitious nobles oppose or serve the regime. The book details Cheliax, including the diabolical capital of Egorian and the shadow-haunted former capital of Westcrown. It adds character traits, magic items, spells, combat feats, and Chelish nonplayer characters for use as cohorts or contacts in adventures set within the nation.
