Columba: The Pond

Carrier pigeons stop at the pond before flying to a nearby dovecote. When the pond card is played, a pigeon tile is drawn and placed on the matching-colored pond square. The tile remains there if no estate of that color exists; otherwise, it is claimed by the corresponding estate or flies to the nearest eligible dovecote, with the largest estate resolving ties. This procedure repeats at the end of each turn by the player who placed the card. The pond’s squares count as part of an estate during final scoring.
