Cosmere Roleplaying Game

A ruleset for cinematic fantasy roleplaying that uses a streamlined d20 core: roll a d20, add a skill, and try to meet a target number. The system layers talent trees, skill-based magic, and a special Plot Die that can introduce Opportunities or Complications to add narrative texture. Play supports combat, conversations, and various endeavors with unified mechanics. Combat uses a dynamic initiative choice between faster two-action turns or slower three-action turns and includes options like gaining advantage and grazing on poor rolls. Social tests and noncombat endeavors have dedicated rules for pressure, counterarguments, and creative problem solving. Character advancement is talent- and path-based rather than rigid classes, allowing meaningful specialization or diversification. Multiple distinct magic systems are supported through skill tests and Investiture mechanics, while rules encourage improvisational uses and worldhopper-designed systems.
