Players portray members of a secret government program that investigates and counters occult, extraterrestrial, and other unnatural threats hidden within modern society. Play focuses on planning and executing covert operations, gathering evidence, interrogating witnesses, and managing limited resources while avoiding exposure. Mechanics emphasize investigative roleplaying, bureaucratic manipulation, team coordination, and the psychological toll of confronting horrors: agents gain knowledge but risk mental and physical deterioration. Sessions combine mission briefs, fieldwork, and aftermath consequences as players balance achieving objectives with preserving their cover and sanity.
