Dynamic Encounters - Volume: ZERO
A compact encounter toolkit presents a territorial goblin band defending a crumbling ruin. Goblin warriors, a fire-wielding pyro, and an elite commando use ledges, cover, handholds, and blazing turf fires to control the battlefield, with optional reinforcements and scaling for different party levels and sizes. The volume includes encounter-design guidance, environmental hazards, creature adjustments, tactical suggestions, and notes for using terrain, escape routes, and changing behavior. The goblins may also be frightened or acting on a misunderstanding, allowing Diplomacy, Intimidation, or story context to turn the confrontation into a negotiation.
