Hood Strikes North: The Tennessee Campaign, Fall 1864

Players command Confederate or Union forces in the November–December 1864 Tennessee campaign, reenacting Hood’s offensive toward Nashville and the Union defense and counteroffensive under Maj. Gen. George Thomas. Play proceeds on a county-based map of mid-19th century Tennessee using regiment- and brigade-level counters, scenario-driven turn sequences, and the GCACW series ruleset. Multiple short scenarios cover key actions such as the race for Columbia, the fights at Spring Hill and Franklin, the Battle of Nashville, cavalry raids and pursuit, plus a full 32-turn campaign. Basic and advanced rule options handle routine movement, combat, entrenchment and command considerations specific to the period.

La serie GCACW tiene mucha movilidad podiéndote hacer un buen destrozo por no haber cortado el paso en determinado sitio, el combate te lo tienes que trabajar (no basta ir con más números) y la tabla está muy bien pensada, activación al azar... Todo hace que sea un juegazo pero tiene un problema gordo. Tal como viene es injugable debido a que cada unidad está representada entre 3 y 5 fichas. Bajandote unas hojas con las unidades del escenario se mitiga el problema pero ahora la información no está sobre el mapa y tienes que mirar las hojas constantemente, lo que lo hace engorroso. HSN supuestamente es bueno como introductorio pero a mi me parece justo lo contrario. Los encenarios no tienen ningún interés porque son muy cortos y lo único interesante es la campaña que peca de lo contrario, es el doble de larga que una campaña del SWJW o RTG.
