The Warsaw Pact Offensive against US V Corps in 1985. An operational simulation of a Warsaw Pact advance through the Fulda Gap, covering command, control, and communication during modern mechanized warfare. Players command regiment- and battalion-sized units across a 5 km-per-hex map, coordinating armor, artillery, engineers, reconnaissance, close air support, attack helicopters, electronic warfare, and counter-battery fire. Chemical and nuclear weapons, doctrine, formation leadership, intelligence, random events, and command problems create uncertainty for both sides. Campaigns and smaller scenarios depict the defense of US V Corps and West German forces against three Warsaw Pact armies, with time, plans, and battlefield confusion shaping every operation.
