Manila: The Savage Streets, 1945

Solitaire area-movement wargame simulating the February–March 1945 American assault on Manila. The player commands the attacking, mobile American forces while the game system controls the defending Japanese units and fortifications. Each nine-turn campaign presents randomized events, uncertain supply arrivals, and hidden Japanese strengths and defensive strategies, so no two plays are identical. Players advance from peripheral districts into denser urban and government sectors, manage unit fatigue and losses, and track a morale value that declines as operations become harder. Victory requires matching or exceeding historical American gains; the game ends in defeat if gains fall short or morale collapses.
