Players take turns selecting a cactus card to add to their collection and declare which edge of the card they will handle. They then flip the card while touching only that chosen side; the revealed back either shows flowers (allowing the card to be kept and scored) or a thorny cactus (which causes the card to be lost). Play continues until a player has kept eight cards or the draw deck is exhausted, then players total the flowers on the cards they retained. The highest flower total wins.
