Saipan & Tinian: Island War Series, Volume I

A two-game simulation of the American invasions of Saipan and Tinian in the summer of 1944. Players command Allied and Imperial Japanese ground forces in battles represented at platoon, company, and battalion level, with each hex covering one-half mile and each turn representing twelve hours. The system abstracts naval and air power while focusing on amphibious landings and ground combat. Limited intelligence, night operations, banzai attacks, coastal defenses, beachheads, replacements, fortifications, and weather shape play. Standard rules cover the series, while exclusive rules provide each battle’s deployments, reinforcements, and special conditions.
