Settlers of Catan Scenario: The Volcano

A volcanic hazard replaces the desert tile, with an eruption triggered whenever its assigned number is rolled. A die determines the direction of the lava, destroying a settlement on the affected intersection or reducing a city to a settlement. Initial settlements cannot border the volcano. An optional gold rule allows adjacent settlements and cities to produce resources when the volcano erupts, before the lava is resolved. The scenario can also be combined with the Seafarers expansion, including a variant that uses three volcano tiles to form an island.
